This is just a friendly reminder that another exciting Techstravaganza will be coming up tomorrow afternoon, (Wednesday, September 30, 2026) from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern! Please note that this is an ongoing weekly workshop. All workshops are recorded and podcasted for later listening, for those who are unable to attend the workshop or just need a little refresher on a specific topic.

Regarding Last Week’s Workshop
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere apologies, on behalf of myself and of the rest of the team, for the fiasco that transpired at last week’s Techstravaganza workshop and resulted in us not being able to complete and record the tutorial. As Ali was conducting his tutorial on iCatcher, several unknown Zoom users (or perhaps one user under several accounts) entered the workshop, and proceeded to use profane and abusive language towards staff and participants on the call. As always, bullying of any kind towards others and the use of profanity is strictly prohibited in any Techstravaganza workshop, and results in the offender’s immediate removal from the call without warning. As such, in order to maintain a safe and welcoming environment in which participants and staff can learn and share together, and to prevent a similar situation from occurring in future workshops, the studio will still open 30 minutes prior to the start of the workshop, however we will now be bringing back the waiting room moving forward and manually admitting participants as they join.
Switch to Google Meet for tomorrow’s Techstravaganza, and going forward starting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026
Please be advised that, for tomorrow’s workshop only, we will be switching to Google Meet, as Ali will be hosting the workshop and running the tutorial. We will be back on Zoom for all of the workshops for the month of October, after which we will be moving permanently over to Google Meet starting on Wednesday, November 4. In light of last week’s fiasco, we attempted to tighten our security measures on Zoom, and ran into some significant screen reader accessibility roadblocks along the way on the administrative side, leaving us with no other choice than to switch to a platform that provides both tighter security and a higher level of screen reader accessibility across the board. We have done some serious extensive testing and finetuning on Google Meet, and although it was a very difficult decision for us to make, we concluded that it would be for the better, both in terms of accessibility and security for the admin team and participants alike. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and please rest assured that we are more than happy to assist in any way, shape or form with installation, login etc.

Coming Up
On tomorrow’s Techstravaganza Afternoons workshop, Ali will conduct a retake of his iCatcher tutorial, as we were unable to complete and record it last week. Please rest assured that on Wednesday, October 7, we will take a look at how to browse the flyers on the Flipp app, as promised.
