I hope that you’re having a wonderful week so far, and enjoying some nice warm summer weather!
This is just a friendly heads up of our upcoming Techstravaganza, which will take place this afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern. The studio will open promptly at 12:45 PM, and the workshop will begin promptly at 1:00. We recommend that you please come in right 12:45 PM, in order to test your setup and ensure that everything is working properly. Please come join us as Amanda takes you on a tour of InnoSearch from within the BeMyEyes app.

Techstravaganza Reminder for Wednesday, August20, 2025, plus a special announcement regarding change of platform
Hello Techstravaganza Friends! Happy Tuesday everyone!
This is just a friendly reminder that our upcoming Techstravaganza will take place tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern. Techstravaganza is an ongoing weekly workshop, so you will not need to register every week. Please note that all sessions will be recorded for your reference and your listening enjoyment.
Special Announcement:
As Google Meet is experiencing ongoing issues preventing many iPhone and iPad users from being able to join in the meetings using the Google Meet app, we have sent in countless bug reports to Google, however the issue has yet to be addressed. As such, we have made a permanent switch back to Zoom which will take effect starting this Wednesday, August 20, and will no longer be returning to Google Meet after this switch.

Whatsapp Tutorial, Thursday, August 14, 2025
Siena Trigiani welcomed attendees to the first Tech Extravaganza 2.0 and announced a permanent transition to Zoom for all future sessions, effective August 20th, due to Google Meet issues, a move supported by Ali Moosa for its robustness and integration. Siena Trigiani then conducted a comprehensive tutorial on WhatsApp, covering features like status updates, editing “About” information, composing and sending messages (including dictation and reactions), sending stickers, and initiating voice and video calls. Discussions with Ali Moosa, Ivy Matouk, and Jeroo & Lionel Russell clarified WhatsApp’s privacy settings, its universal compatibility compared to iPhone-specific apps, and how it utilizes the Call Kit framework for ringtones.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you all that Techstravaganza 2.0 will be changing date and time. We are excited to announce that Techstravaganza 2.0 will be moving from the second Saturday of each month to the second Thursday evening of the month, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Eastern. This change will be in effect as of Thursday, August 14. This will allow for everyone to enjoy weekend time with friends and loved ones,and for those who are unable to attend Wednesday afternoon workshops to spend an evening with us and explore the world of assistive and mainstream technology. On last week’s workshop, we had a slight change of agenda; we took an in depth look at accessing and customizing the Control Centre on the iPhone. Techstravaganza will not be impacted! I will be away for the next three weeks but will be at Techstravaganza 2.0 on the 14
Hello,
Techstravaganza will not be impacted, it will run at its scheduled day and time.
I would like to inform you, for the next three Wednesdays, (August 13, August 20, and August 27,) I will be away.
However, I will be at Techstravaganza 2.0 on Thursday, August 14, at 7:00 PM.
While I am away from the afternoon workshops, Siena and Amanda will be your hosts. On the 13, Amanda will be away too, Siena will run the workshop solo.
I will still post the recordings on the day of the workshops, but in the evening. They will be up no later than 10:00 PM Eastern.
