As a follow up to my tutorial on creating Ringtones and assigning it as the default, and a specific contact. I felt I would do one on creating and assigning an iMessage tone as well. I also cover how to make it an exact length for an iMessage tone using Sound Lab. Feel free to select the Play button.

After Ali’s tutorial, Siena demonstrated how to set a custom ringtone or text tone for a specific contact, as per participants’ request. She will demonstrate how to use Apple’s Handoff feature to copy and paste text from one device’s clipboard to another, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

On this week’s Techstravaganza, due to technical issues, Ali will provide us a refresher of how to create ring tones and text tones on the iPhone and iPad using the SoundLab application. On this week’s Techstravaganza, we will be joined in the first half of the workshop by guest speaker Robyn Jackson from Direct Funding, an Ontario based program that allows persons with physical disabilities to employ their own attendants to assist with daily tasks. Robyn will provide us an indepth look at all that the program entails.
In the second half, as per participants’ request, Ali will take you on a tour of how to create custom ringtones and text tones for your iPhone and iPad using the SoundLab app. We were originally intending to use the Music To Ringtone app, however, as it has not been updated in over a year, we were concerned that the app is no longer being maintained, and felt that SoundLab would be the best option.
