This is just a friendly reminder that another exciting Techstravaganza Afternoons workshop will be coming up this afternoon, starting at 1:00 PM and running until 3:00 PM Eastern! Please note that this is an ongoing weekly workshop. All workshops are recorded and podcasted for later listening, for those who are unable to attend the workshop or just need a little refresher on a specific topic.

Switch to Google meet going forward starting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026
Please be advised that, starting on Wednesday, november 4, Techstravaganza will be moving all of its workshops from Zoom to Google Meet. As we have been facing ongoing accessibility and security challenges on the backend with Zoom which hinder us from fully making use of the features required to host the workshops, the team have come to the conclusion that it would be best for us to switch platforms, in order for us to be able to host the workshops with ease and the peace of mind of tighter security measures in place. As such, we will be hosting a tutorial on today’s Techstravaganza Afternoons on how to use Google Meet on your desktop as well as on your iPhone, iPad and Android device. Here are some desktop keyboard shortcuts to help you get started:
Shift+/: Opens the keyboard help page.
CTRL+D (Windows)/Command+D (Mac): Toggles the microphone off and on.
CTRL+E (Windows)/Command+E (Mac): Toggles the camera off and on.
CTRL+T (Windows)/Command+T (Mac): Starts presenting.
CTRL+H (Windows)/Command+H (Mac): Raises and lowers your hand.
CTRL+P (Windows)/Command+P (Mac): Shows/hides the People panel.
CTRL+C (Windows)/Command+C (Mac): Shows/hides the chat.
CTRL+I (Windows)/Command+I (Mac): Announces current information about the meeting room.
CTRL+S (windows)/Command+S (Mac): Announces who is currently speaking.
