This is just a friendly reminder that another exciting Techstravaganza Afternoons workshop is coming up tomorrow afternoon, (Wednesday, October 28, 2026) from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern! Please note that this is an ongoing weekly workshop. All workshops are recorded and podcasted for later listening, for those who are unable to attend the workshop or just need a little refresher on a specific topic.
Switch to Google meet going forward starting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026
As we have been experiencing various accessibility and security challenges on Zoom over the last few months, the tame have come to the conclusion that it would be best for us to switch over to Google meet, which provides both better accessibility and security across the board. This will allow for the workshops to run more smoothly for all. As such, tomorrow’s workshop will be the last one that we will host on Zoom, after which all Techstravaganza workshops will officially switch over to Google Meet as of next Wednesday, November 4, 2026. In preparation for the move, here are a few keyboard shortcuts to help you get started. I have updated the list of shortcuts and corrected a few errors. The updated list is as follows:
Toggle the microphone: CTRL+D (Windows)/Command+D (Mac)
Toggle the camera: CTRL+E (Windows)/Command+E (Mac)
Start presenting: CTRL+Alt+T (Windows)/CTRL+Command+T (Mac)
Raise/lower hand: CTRL+Alt+H (Windows)/Control+Command+H (Mac)
Show/hide the People panel: CTRL+Alt+P (Windows)/CTRL+Command+P (Mac)
Show/hide the chat: CTRL+Alt+C (Windows)/CTRL+Command+C) Mac
Announce information about the room: CTRL+Alt+I (Windows)/CTRL+Command+I (Mac)
Announce who is currently speaking: CTRL+Alt+S (Windows)/CTRL+Command+S (Mac)
